We became interested in photography over 30 years ago.  The photography interest started because of the livestock business taking photos for our production and 4-H pig sale flyers. The photography passion also caught the attention of our three daughters taking the Photography project in 4-H for each of their  10 years. Each earning champions in the project and some earning honors at the State level. 

Vicki and Janell Emmert have been photography project leaders in Boone County, Indiana for the past 10 years. The project has expanded greatly over the years with approximately 280 4-Hers enrolled.  We provided several workshops, answer questions and offer advice for them throughout the 4-H year as project leaders. 

Along the way Vicki and Janell have expanded their knowledge of photography by taking classes and workshops.  In the early years Vicki took courses on black & White photography development and more recently has taken digital photography workshops hosted by Purdue Extension and Cord Camera. 

Janell attended Indiana State University where she took a dark room course learning about lines, shadows, colors and of course how to develop photos in the darkroom.  She also took a Physics of Photography course learning about light, shutter speeds, apertures and much more. 

In 1998 Vicki started taking senior pictures and throughout the years has expanded taking wedding, senior pictures, anniversary, livestock, and family portraits. Vicki’s daughters Janell and Julie also have joined in helping their mother take photographs during those special moments.
